Nos despertamos con esta hermosa vista marina desde las ventanas de nuestras habitaciónes en Antulafken

We awoke to the beautiful ocean view from our rooms at Antulafken.

Después del desayuno nos fuimos a un tour de la Mina de Lota.

After breakfast we drove to Lota for a tour into the coal mine.

Llegamos a la mina justo a tiempo para el próximo tour.

La mina fue fundada en el siglo 18 y funcionó hasta el 1997. Hoy, son los antiguos mineros los que sirven de guías. Nos pusieron cascos con linternas y bajamos hasta las profundidades.

We got to the coal mine just in time for the next tour. The mine was founded in the 1800s and ran until 1997. Now, former miners give tours of the mine. We got to wear hard hats with lights and go deep down into the mine.

Antes de empezar el tour, William causó un alboroto. Una mujer quiso tomarse una foto con él; luego otra y otra. De pronto eran familias completas esperando a tomarse fotos con él . ¡ Ni siquiera tenían máquinas fotográficas! Finalmente, el guía. se aburrió de esperar y tuvo que tomar la decisión de terminar el asunto para comenzar el tour

Before the tour got started, however, William caused a stir. One woman wanted to have her picture taken with him, then another, then another. Pretty soon whole families were lining up to have their photos taken with him even if they didn’t have a camera! Finally the tour leader got disgusted and had to break it up so he could begin the tour.

El libro " Subterra " es un relato sobre los mineros de Lota . Luego se realizó la película que fue filmada en locación en esta misma mina. Bajamos en el ascensor que en la época sólo era utilizada por los administradores. Son muy rústicos y parecen bastante inseguros. Bajamos 15 pisos hacia las profundidades de la mina. Abajo estaba húmedo, y caluroso.

The book “Sub Terra” was written about the Lota mine. Then a film was made of it and it was filmed on location here at the mine.

They sent us down on the elevators used only by the administrators. They seemed like rustic devices that were hardly safe. We went down 15 stories into the belly of the mine. There, it was humid and warm.

Tuvimos que caminar por la porción más baja de la mina para experimentar las condiciones en las cuales trabajaban los mineros. Eran muy bajos los techos, por lo que tenían que trabajar agachados y en absoluta obscuridad, con elementos muy primitivos. Sus turnos eran de 14 horas o más. Les tomaba 2 horas bajar a la mina y más de 2 para subir. Llevaban a sus niños a la parte de adelante de la mina, y los hacían esperarlos las 12 o 14 horas en la obscuridad. Esto para que se acostumbraran tempranamente a la vida en la mina ya que empezarían a trabajar desde muy pequeños en ella. Fue una experiencia muy potente.

We had to walk through the lowest portion of the mine to get a sense of the conditions in which the miners worked. They had to work bent down, most of the time in absolute darkness with very primitive tools. Their shifts would last 14 hours or more and it took them 2 hours to walk down into the mine and another 2 to get back out. They would even bring their children down into the front part of the mine and make them wait 12 hours in darkness for them. This was to help them adjust to mining life early on so they could do this work when they were old enough—usually about 8 years old. It was a powerful experience.

This is the steep climb back out of the mine. The rails are for the carts with which they brought the coal up.

Tuve que obtener ayuda especial para subir todas esas escaleras. ¡Excelente ejercicio!

I had to get extra help going up all those steps. Great exercise!

Antes de volver a almorzar al hotel, dimos unas vueltas por Lota.

We drove around Lota a bit more before heading back to our hotel for lunch.

En el camino de vuelta nos encontramos con este toro posando junto a la señalización. ¡No podría repetirse este momento único!

On the way back, we found this bull posing by this sign. This unique moment can't be repeated!

Luego ellos partieron a una caminata de 31/2 horas con Andrés como su guía.

Then they headed out for a 3 and a half hour hike with Andres as their guide.

Y decidí no ir,así que aquí estoy despidiéndome.

I decided not to go so here I am bidding them farewell.

Pero antes de que se fueran teníamos tiempo para practicar un poco de Yoga de la Risa, así que hicimos la Risa del León

But before they went, there was just enough time to practice a little laughter yoga so we did

And this is how they found me, ha,ha

Estaban muy cansados,pero Andrés había invitado a su socio, Rodrigo y a Carmen , su esposa a una sesión de Yoga de la Risa. También habían invitado a la pareja que hizo la caminata con ellos. Sin embargo el cansancio desapareció y tuvimos una sesión tan bulliciosa y entretenida que nuestro grupo se duplicó a medida que otros clientes escuchaban nuestros sonidos risueños y se nos unían. Nos pareció maravilloso comprobar lo irresistible que es el Yoga de la Risa. ¡Atrae a las personas como un imán!

They were very tired but Andres had invited his business partner, Rodrigo and his wife to join us for a Laughter Yoga session . They also invited the couple who had been on the hike with them. However, tiredness disappeared we had such a boisterously good time that our group doubled in size as other guests heard our joyful sounds and joined in. We thought it was wonderful how it proved that laughter yoga is irresistible. It attracts people like a magnet!

Después del término, se nos acercó una de las personas que participó para decirnos que la experiencia había sido "un regalo del Universo" y que estaba tan agradecida de haberse topado con nuestra sesión. ¡Se sentía tan bien!

Afterwards, one of those who joined in told us that the experience was a “gift from the Universe” and was so grateful to have happened into our session. She felt so uplifted!

Rodrigo estaba sorprendido de lo bien que se siente reír de esta manera. Dijo que sabía que sería una buena experiencia, pero estaba impresionado de lo increíblemente buena que fue.
